Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-07-21

Vinqua provides free vehicle information reports. Every report aggregates public data from U.S. government sources — NHTSA and the EPA — and is offered “as is,” without warranty of accuracy or completeness. Reports are currently free to run and require no account.

What a report is and is not

A report reflects what those sources held at the moment it was generated. Records are only as complete as what states, manufacturers, insurers and drivers reported to them. A report showing nothing adverse is not proof that a vehicle is undamaged. Always verify with an official source and an independent mechanical inspection before purchasing a vehicle.

Reports do not include title brands, odometer history or total-loss records. Those come from NMVTIS, which is not available through any free or public interface.

Not affiliated with any government agency

Vinqua is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of NHTSA, the EPA, the U.S. Department of Justice, AAMVA, NICB or any state licensing authority.

Acceptable use

Reports are for personal use in evaluating a specific vehicle. Automated bulk collection is not permitted: Vinqua reads live government APIs on your behalf, and scraping degrades the service for everyone. Requests are rate limited accordingly.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vinqua accepts no liability for any decision made on the basis of a report. The service is free and provided without warranty.
