WHEELS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER06/25/2026
I am reporting a serious public safety concern involving Walmart Auto Care Center in Waterford, CT, after tire installation on my 2023 Dodge Challenger. Walmart installed four new Michelin tires on 05/12/2026 after Walmart.com order #[XXX]. On [XXX], a missing front passenger-side locking lug nut was discovered. I photographed the missing lug nut area and reported the issue to Walmart. When I returned to the Waterford Walmart Auto Care Center on 06/12/2026, the Tire/Lube department manager stated that Walmart associates do not tighten or torque locking lug nuts because of a prior incident where a locking-lug key broke inside a customer’s wheel. This was never disclosed to me before service and was not posted for consumers. On 06/24/2026, the same department manager confirmed that statement in front of an assistant store manager during a recorded in-person interaction. During that same interaction, after I stated the vehicle has five lug nuts per wheel, the assistant store manager stated words to the effect that I could safely drive with only three lug nuts. My concern is not only reimbursement. This appears to be a serious vehicle safety issue: customers may be leaving a tire service department with missing, unsecured, or untorqued locking lug nuts, without being warned that all lug nuts were not properly secured. Lug nuts secure the wheel to the vehicle. A wheel or tire assembly failure at roadway speeds could endanger the vehicle occupants and the public. I have scheduled an independent inspection with Karns Automotive for 07/06/2026 to evaluate Walmart’s tire work and related wheel-safety concerns. Walmart Ethics/Safety reference: [XXX]. ENGINE04/28/2026
The engine is malfunctioning. It is available for inspection. When you accelerate the vehicle, the engine goes into limp mode then it goes into neutral and you have to find a safe place on the side of the road to pull over shut it off and restart it. It's very very dangerous. Yes, Vatland Chrysler Dodge in Vero Beach. After it first malfunctioned the engine light came on and it's been on ever since. The dealership Vatland Chrysler can't get authorization from corporate to repair it and the vehicle is sitting and unsafe to drive.

The front windshield spontaneously cracked from the A frame. This is dangerous because it weakens the windshield and can impair vision. Multiple people online have complained about the same issue with their 2023 Challengers. I had it fixed at my dealership and through my insurance for an exorbitant amount of money. I contacted Stellantis and they tried to get in contact with the dealership but I dont believe they did. It doesn't appear they ever did their own investigation nor did they ever respond to my requests for reimbursement. I think this should be investigated given the number of claims online about this issue and that it appears to be a manufacturer defect. In all the cars my family and I have had over the years, none of them ever had an issue like this.

Windshield stress crack. From driver side A pillar across the windshield. Widely known factory defect issue. Causing many windshield replacements. No impact, no chips. This was due to improper bonding of the windshield during manufacturing, and body flex of the vehicle.

ON 12/24/2025 I found a foot long stress crack on the passenger side of the windshield. I was a National Glass Association Technician for 10 years I can tell the difference between a stress crack and an impact crack. There is no reason for this 2023 vehicle to have a stress crack with only 38,000 miles. Apparently, this is an ongoing issue all one needs to do is google the condition to see there is a problem with these vehicles and windshield stress cracks. My concern is what is the underlying reason causing these stress cracks and is it a larger safety issue as I believe the manufacture most likely knows.

Have a crack in windshield on passenger side about half way up pillar. There is no places of contact just the crack like it’s from body flex and there are a lot of other challenger customers with the same issue

This make/model/year has many issues of windshield cracking. My car windshield was fine, no issues, I went to the garage to uncover it to drive and there was a crack among the passenger edge about 9 inches. I researched if this was a recall/known issue. No recall but many many issues amongst owners of this car, in the exact same location for no apparent reason. They are saying it IS a build issue. Window cracking in Dodge Challengers, especially 2023 models, is a widespread issue linked to potential body flexing/twisting from manufacturing defects, causing stress cracks in the windshield; it's often a factory/assembly defect, not just typical wear. Dodge will NOT fix my windshield, they state there is only a 12 month glass warranty. I purchased my car in May of 2024. It only has 3000 miles on it and there is NO evidence of debris causing this. If you google, you will see how bad this is and it is affecting these cars everywhere.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM11/02/2025
I know this has probably been posted. Driving last night with the wife and I smell fuel. Then the gas gauge starts to drop from full to empty in less than 3 minutes. I pull over, the car shuts down. I see fuel on the passenger side , just in front of the tire. Get the car safely towed home. I pop the back seat and remove the access cover for the fuel pump. See picture. This is how I found the fuel line. The green locking tab was not locked. Even though theirs a green paint mark to confirm the fuel line is secure. Obviously not. The locking tab barely engages and is so easy to move to the unlocked position with no effort at all. Stellantis should be embarrassed that a vehicle left their plant in an unsafe condition. Either the locking tab was not engaged fully or in my opinion a terrible design. It should lock with some effort. With the high pressure the fuel system is under there should be a better locking mechanism. This is a poor design. My car is not modified, has only 2,000 miles on it and has never been tracked. To me a design flaw or piss poor installation tech is responsible. The car could have caught on fire and hurt someone if it was in my garage. These lines should use aircraft style fasteners for the fuel lines, especially at the top of the pump. I have seen at least 12 other instances like this online. That means there are many more. There needs to be a recall that changes the fuel pump and a much more reliable fastening and locking system. These car were and are not cheap. I’ve never complained here or anywhere. I really enjoy the car. But now my confidence in the vehicle’s safety is very much in question. When I called Chrysler roadside assistance they said I couldn’t get a two until Monday 11-3. WTH! @DodgeCares sounds like you don’t really care. The BMW dealership that I have bought two cars from where out in 30 minutes to help and get me and my car home.
SEATS09/19/2025
Passenger seat will not lock into place, even while driving or stationary causing concern as this becomes a safety issue.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL08/12/2025
My traction control is turning on and off by itself I’m not touching the button can be at a stoplight or drive down the road
SERVICE BRAKES08/07/2025
As described in the 05-001-22 bulletin, my brakes are making a clicking noise when reversing or turning at low speeds. A bulletin has been issued for every year except 2023 (my car’s year) for the same issue.

Front windshield on the passenger side developed a stress crack. There is no impact mark and the crack developed while turning a corner. Hopefully this doesn't mean that there is a deeper issue with the frame. This is a common issue on this year and model specifically that many have been complaining about on online forums. The crack grew from 5 inches to over a foot long within an hour. Others have said this will continue to grow horizontally until it splits the glass in two. This is a huge safety risk for all of the obvious reasons which can be googled. Not to mention it makes the car legally undrivable until fixed.
