We're in the waiting period for our 3rd engine. 1st engine failure, while driving on interstate at 70+ MPH, engine stopped running, causing a very unsafe condition for family and surrounding vehicles. Engine failure 2 days later, towed to dealership for inspection, replacement engine was installed ~4 weeks later. 2nd engine failure, while driving on interstate at 75+ MPH, engine seemed underpowered and would rev upwards of 6000+RPMs, not exactly unsafe, but not usual operating conditions either. Returned to dealer, upon inspection, total engine replacement was recommended.

Cameras go black and become inop randomly. Been in shop multiple times for concern. Software updates have been performed, modules replaced, cables, and now it’s back for the same concern.

Driving on highway at 80 MPH and accelerator stopped working and car turned off. We had to coast off toll rd and hope for the best. No warning and happened with our whole family in the car. I had a recall notice from manufacturer but last time I tried contacting manufacturer/dealer they said no resolution was available to repair recall yet and that I couldn’t drop off my vehicle.

I perform all maintenance on my vehicles, I have previously been a ASE Certified Master Technician, so I know engines and vehicles very well. Vehicle is outside of current engine recall window due to the engine build date being July 15, 2024. Engine was over maintained, oil and oil filter changed 6 times in 17,732 miles, first oil and filter change performed at 544 miles, when 5W30 oil was put in engine, installed a magnetic drain plug and installed Filter Mags on oil filter. Ran 5W30 oil for 2 oil changes, then moved to 0W40 oil. Oil analysis performed for each oil change. Results were looking acceptable up until the next to last oil change at 13,801 miles. Changed engine oil and filter on 6/12/2026 @17,732 miles. Found a heavy build up of metal particles on the magnetic drain plug and when oil filter was cut open there was a heavy build up of metal particles where the Filter Mags were located and the filter element had fine metal particles in entire engine oil filter element. The engine has made no noise and is still running, but based on the evidence the engine is currently failing and if I would have continued to drive it, the engine would likely lock up on the highway. CLEARLY GM DID NOT solve the crankshaft problem July 1, 2024 and CLEARLY using a higher viscosity oil like 0W40 will not keep these engines from failing. If I would have continued to drive the vehicle and if I would have not changed oil and found metal in the oil, this engine would have absolutely failed on the highway. This vehicle has over 80% highway use.

Vehicle started making a knocking noise. Made a service appointment. While on the highway, engine suddenly died causing the vehicle to shift into neutral. After stopping on the shoulder, vehicle locked into Park and would not shift back into neutral or start again for tow truck driver. Towed to nearby dealer who said the engine is beyond repair and has to be replaced. Estimated time to get engine and replace is 4 to 6 weeks.

2024 Engine failed while moving at 70mph out of state. De-accelerated rapid as I was changing lanes and was almost hit by two vehicles. Once of the interstate, I made it to the shoulder of an exit ramp that was a blind spot. Cars exiting to this ramp almost always had to veer to keep from hitting me. I purchased this vehicle in October 2024, never knew anything about a recall, was never disclosed to me about recalls. To this day, if I enter my VIN, there is no recall and I have never received any communication stating this vehicle was on recall. I complained to the dealer twice about unusual noise from vehicle, which they dismissed. I took it back to the dealer because my oil light indicated I was "low", this oil is too low, my concern was a leak. Took into GMC dealer, they stated we did not see any leak. Now this. Problem, GA law states in order to qualify for buyback, 24,000 miles or under 2 years. Well, I have 24,986...this automatically disqualifies me. SMH The options I was given are all a NO WIN for me! I was almost killed on the interstate, not to mention the level of stress and issues this car nightmare has caused me. $100k vehicle and I still owe 87K

1.XXX XX— GM Recall Notification (Recall No. N252494000) I received official notification from General Motors of Recall N252494000 affecting my vehicle. I brought the vehicle to [XXX] as directed to have the recall remedy performed. 2. XXX — First Report of Engine Propulsion Issues I reported engine propulsion concerns to Jim Ellis. This was my first formal complaint regarding the performance of the vehicle following the recall remedy. 3. XXX — Oil Type Change Performed by Jim Ellis Jim Ellis performed an engine oil type change, switching to 0W-40 oil, and advised me that this change would serve as the fix for Recall N252494000. I accepted this remedy in good faith. 4. XXX — Low Oil Warning Light Activated Approximately nine months after the recall remedy, and well before the end of the recommended oil life cycle, the low oil warning light activated on my dashboard. This is abnormal and indicative of excessive oil consumption. I returned to Jim Ellis, who performed a fresh oil change and placed my vehicle on a 6,000-mile oil consumption test — an acknowledgment that an oil consumption problem exists. 5. XXX — Active Engine Misfires, Jerking, and Flashing Check Engine Light While operating my vehicle on Sunday, May 31, 2026, I experienced severe engine jerking and misfires. The check engine light began flashing — not steady — which I understand to indicate an active and serious engine misfire event. I was genuinely concerned for my personal safety and immediately parked the vehicle. It has not been driven since. 6. XXX — GM Corporate Case Opened I contacted GM Customer Care and was assigned Corporate Case Number INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

First incident April 9 2024 not even a month after purchased. Vehicle dashboard lit up light a Christmas tree all warning lights while driving on highway. Vehicle shook and sputtered and turned off. The vehicle was serviced explanation given was loose spark plugs on a new vehicle. 2nd incident roughly month after recall repair for engine propulsion campaign. February 26 and 27 2026 . While driving the following lights came on Engine failure ,Brake failure , Service Transmission now unable to shift soon. I was terrified because I could not control the vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The answer to the issues was Battery failure. Third incident April 17th 2026 I driving on highway 70 miles check engine light comes on flashes dashboard goes dark. Vechicle sputters and shut down. I restarted the vehicle the warning on the display disappeared and the vehicle restarted. I reached returned the vehicle again to the dealership because the problem resumed slowing down even though I’m depressing the gas. Vehicle is shifting and dragging. Resulting unexpected lurching. My vehicle has been at the dealership since end of April 2026 it remains there currently. My representative stated a code indicating misfiring has appeared 18 times. Also everyday my vehicle keeps saying software update even I installed the update and it says complete. I know GM is not updating my vehicle software everyday. That indicates there is a computer issue as well. My anxiety level is through the roof at this point. I complained before about this same failures in a Cadillac Escalade prior to it lurching forward and crashing. I filed a complaint before February 2024 . There is something really wrong with GM engines and software. I know I’m not the only one experiencing these problems

Purchase this Vehicle November 1st 2025 as a GM certified used vehicle. Had several issues with the camera system including the backup camera. Would go offline and not be usable for days. Vehicle went back to shop several times for this with no resolution. Now February 18th 2026 at approximately 630PM EST (after sunset) on the way into work traveling on the highway the engine lost power and engine shutdown. Vehicle shifted into neutral with the indication to press the start button in order to shift into Drive. This cause all of the lights to shutdown when it tried to start the engine. I was barely able to pull this over to the shoulder before I lost forward motion. Narrow shoulder. Tried to restart again with the same results. Call towing company. They attempted to jump start vehicle. Same results. All power shutdown. Truck was loaded onto flatbed and towed to dealership. Dealership states bad battery. Got authorization to replace battery from the dealer in which I purchased the truck. hey attempted to start and then it burned out the main fuse. They determined that the engine had seized and they were going to replace the engine. I looked up to find that GM had performed the engine oil replacement procedure in June of 2025. This vehicle is listed in the "recall" for defective L87 engines. Clearly changing the oil had no effect to remedy the issue. I have no faith that the new engine will not fail the same way this one did.

On March 14th the 6.2L engine was making a loud noise so I took it straight to the dealership and dropped it off. It was determined to be a failed engine. I have not been able to use my vehicle for 5 weeks now.
