The problem is reoccurance in short periods of time. I had an alignment done at 14,000 miles, then at about 20,000 miles when the tires were replace. Now, the car has 34,000 miles and requires another alignment due to excessive tire wear on the inner portion of the tire. The car has only been driving under normal driving conditions for the area; 95% highway driving. There haven't been any impacts to anything which could cause the alignment to fail this horribly so frequently. This is the only car I have ever owned that has ever needed an alignment three times in a one year timeframe. Independent service centers reproduced the first two times. The first time the mechanic informed me that it was mechanically impossible to get the car within Jeep's aligment specifications without aftermarket parts. Aftermarket parts were installed to get the vehicle within Jeep's aligment specifications due to the tires being replaced. I can personally visually inspect the tires and confirm excessive wear on 80,000 mile tires that I bought in April of 2026. The car will be taken into a dealership this time. This issue can cause the car to walk across the lane, harder than normal steering/controll, and loss of traction easier than normal on wet or slick surfaces. I can provide receipts
The contact rented a 2025 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while slowly pulling into a parking space, the engine revved and the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle and shifted the transmission to reverse(R). During the failure, the vehicle crashed into a wall causing damages to the driver’s side front bumper. A Police report was filed at the scene. The failure mileage was 2,736.
Several safety warning lights continue to appear while driving. Car slows down on its own at times. Media screen glitches as well. Dealer has worked on the car about 4-5 times. Currently, the car is with the dealer for a 3rd straight week and they claim to not have any loaners. Dealer has continuously stated that the sensor needs to be kept clean, but this is just a distraction. These cars are not safe on the road and should all be recalled as lemons. The manufacturer is using subpar systems and master technicians have been unable to completely fix the issue. These issues began to appear before car had 8k miles. This issue is frustrating and scary.
Warning message in dash stating that the drive mode is unavailable. Emergency and safety features are not functioning as they should. The emergency braking and forward collision warning doesn’t work. When driving, the warnings will go off independently and disengage. Byers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership in Columbus serviced the vehicle May 2026-August 2026 with support from Stellantis replaced multiple components and the harness to repair the drive system, with all failed attempts to correct the problem. On August 10, 2026 the dealership returned my car to me, citing no repair available and that a software update should correct the issue. Dealership advises the car is safe to operate.
The contact rented a 2025 Jeep Compass. While the contact’s husband was driving approximately 70 MPH, there was a burning odor and an abnormal sound coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road, and the contact and her husband observed whitish gray smoke that eventually turned black coming from the engine compartment. The hood was opened and immediately there were flames coming from the engine compartment. The contact and her husband removed personal belongings from the vehicle. During the failure, three sheriffs pulled up behind the burning vehicle. A Police report was filed. The Fire Department arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The vehicle advanced warning stystems are all failing. After multiple repair attempts this continues. Previously it resulted in failure where vehicle would not move due to advanced brake assist.
When fueling I can’t get the gas to go into the jeep it shuts off over and over takes near 20 mins to get a half a tank of fuel it’s loose in there air can’t escape I’m thinking
The adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning turns off randomly and the warning lights come on saying they are not working and to take it to the dealership. This has happened around 8 to 10 times. The first being under 1000 miles. I took it to the dealership then and they said nothing was wrong and I need to keep the sensors clean. It makes no difference if the car is just washed or dirty. I’ll be driving on a city street or highway and all of a sudden the warning lights are on. Sometimes they go off by themselves. Sometimes after I turn off the car they are on but when restarted they are off. Finally tonight about 5:45 on the highway multiple warning lights went on. Engine, all safety warnings, transmission warning, overheating warning. I pull over and all the transmission fluid began to pour out onto the highway. I had to pay 178.00 and wait on the shoulder of a two lane highway for about an hour and a half before the tow truck arrived. I had it left at the dealership and had to pay 80.00 to get a Lyft to my house an hour and 25 minutes away. I will find out tomorrow about the transmission failing but they won’t do anything about the other safety systems going off at random.
Vehicle has a major safety defect unknown as to component causing. While driving at freeway speeds the vehicle suddenly has sudden jolt as if vehicle switched into park suddenly. This causes seatbelt tensioner to lock and for the 0.5 to 1 second speed reduced instantly as if slamming on brakes causing vehicles behind to almost hit me. This has now happened on 3 separate occasions but cannot be replicated on demand by anyone. No warning lamps no indicators of anything like open door, parking brake, or any forward collision system showing on instrument panel.
The contact's husband owns a 2025 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop on several occasions. The ABS and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer; however, the failure could not be diagnosed, but an unknown recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure was caused by a defective steering module. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the dealer had recently diagnosed the vehicle with an electric parking brake system failure, a stuck electric parking brake switch, and a potential signal failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and denied the contact’s request for buyback assistance. A case number was provided. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

The contact owned a 2025 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH on the expressway, the traffic came to a stop due to a stalled vehicle in the fast lane. The contact slammed on the brakes to avoid rear-ending the vehicle in front. When the vehicle behind the contact's vehicle could not stop on time and rear-ended the contact's vehicle, from the impact, the contact's vehicle was pushed into the vehicle in front, where it came to a stop. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a towing yard, and afterwards, the insurance company towed the vehicle to one of their locations to inspect it and deemed it a total loss. The day after the accident, the contact went to the hospital, where the doctor diagnosed that the contact had sustained four bulging discs due to the accident. The contact was prescribed medication: steroids, anti-inflammatories, and muscle relaxers, and the contact was scheduled for physical therapy. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,218.
